Winnipeg UBF chapter director Paul Daniel “Bosung” Kim wrote me a letter earlier this week most likely in response to the online content I made exposing his chapter Winnipeg UBF.
Here is the transcript of the letter:
My dear brother Eric in Christ,
How painful are you going in your distress in Christ?
I believe your Lord Jesus is also always going through with you as he promised in his word.
I would like to share with you the Comfort of God in the book of Isaiah:
“Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
He grew up before God like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.
He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering.
Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and HY HIS WOUNDS WE ARE HEALED.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.
By oppression and judgment he was taken away, And who can speak of his descendants?
For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was stricken.
He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth.
Yet it was the LORD’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the LORD makes his life a guilt offering,
he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand.
After the suffering of his soul, he will see the light of life, and be satisfied; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities.
Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors.
For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.” (Isaiah 53, NIV)
May the word of God give you his true Comfort and Encouragement in Jesus Christ who took away all your infirmities, sorrows, transgressions, iniquities, punishment and judgment, your WOUNDS and HURTS by his Cross 2000 years ago in advance even when you did not know it. Nobody can give you God’s Comfort, but only Jesus your LORD can do for you, my dear brother Eric!
I will remember you in my prayer, my dear brother Eric.
God bless you with his word of peace!
Thank you!!!
Only believing, hoping, loving & living in the grace and power of Jesus’ Blood,
Your brother Paul in Christ

Here is my commentary on the letter and more:
How painful are you going in your distress in Christ?
This is the biggest misunderstanding that pro-UBF/longtime UBF members continue to have. Their understanding is that they equate those who crtique/oppose UBF to hating God. This is not the case. UBF is NOT God. UBF is a man-made group that worship UBF “missionaries” in a subtle way to the point of even violating their conscience and never questioning the “missionary”.
I believe your Lord Jesus is
What do you mean ‘your Jesus’? There is one only Jesus. Unless UBF has been worshiping their own Jesus.
I would like to share with you the Comfort of God
By God Paul is referring to UBF.
my dear brother Eric
As you can clearly see UBF “missionaries” have spare time on their hands. If they tell you otherwise then they are probably lying to you.
If Paul Kim is willing to have an open discussion and biblically prove the shepherding/discipling movement, covering theology, and why Winnipeg UBF is operating under a new front then I’m willing to give you, Paul Kim, the benefit of the doubt.
I wonder what Paul Kim’s purpose is in writing to you, Eric.
What WOUNDS and HURTS is he talking about without having a conversation with you? Is he imagining or assuming your feelings and imposing these feelings on you?
I am lost for further words. The self-righteous attitude does not sit well with the Christian character I know.
TC, I wish I knew Paul Kim’s purpose. I don’t even know Paul Kim personally.
This is extremely rare for a UBF chapter director/”missionary” to reply to an ex-member. UBF usually sends a senior to speak for them. Even when chapter directors do talk to ex-members on those very rare occasions it is typically with an ex-member from their own chapter and not an ex-member from another chapter or from another country
