Episode 3 captures the bait-and-switch nature of ubf one to one Bible study. The student finds the invitation does not match the reality of their meeting.
These make more sense in order. So this one depends on the previous comic where the student accepted Bible study only after being offered both kimchi (some strange new thing that looks good) and the Bible.
But now the kimchi is gone, so the student is confused. He was not really interested in Bible study but he came because of the kimchi.
Sort of like me… I was not so interested in Bible study but the curious nature of the Koreans and the delicious kimchi every Friday kept me interested.
It took me awhile to figure this one out. But then again, I’m very slow to catch on with these sorts of things!
If I were to paraphrase, could the student have asked, “Are you teaching me kimchee?”
