hChange. You cannot grow without change. Without the process of transition, evolution, adaptation and division, cells cannot grow into living beings. Division, then, is not always a bad thing. Division is necessary for growth and is part of every healthy group. And so “you be friends” is changing yet again. Here are some updates as to what is going on with our virtual community.

Introducing our new Admin!

Soon I will be passing the baton to a new ubfriends admin. His name is Eddie. He is a recent former member from a UBF chapter in California. All publishing and editing decisions will be handed over to Eddie. He is free to remain as the only Admin, or to include whomever he wants to help out.

To facilitate this change, there will be a new admin group as well. In addition to the Admin account, ubfriends has always had an admin group. These people had a major say in most decisions about ubfriends. The new admins group will include Joe and Chris, and of course Eddie. Ben and myself (BrianK) will no longer be included in the official admins group. This means my voice and Ben’s voice will be a bit muted. Ben and I enjoyed being the loudest voices here, but that is changing a bit. Although we are both likely to comment and submit articles for publishing, we will be doing so as members, not as admins. In fact, I plan to comment here from time to time, but under the moniker “WikiGoat“.

If you are a member who has been in the Editor role, which allowed you to publish articles here anytime you want, this privilege has been removed. I removed all Editors so that Eddie can decide who, if anyone, should have this privilege going forward.

NOTE: There are some articles in the Admin queue to be reviewed. Eddie will be deciding how to proceed on those articles already in the queue.

More changes coming!

Eddie will explain further, but expect more changes in the coming weeks and months. There are some highly problematic situations involving at least two UBF chapters right now. Please bear with us as we attempt to move forward legally and responsibly, and in a way that promotes unity, goodness and love.
