As the year 2011 comes to an end, I begin my yearly December reflections on the year by publishing my 2011 Easter Conference Report. This was the most significant event of 2011.
As Christmas approaches, I’ve had one thought that keeps coming to mind: Would I have room for Jesus if he had visited in 2011 instead of about 2,000 years ago?
Things like this have disturbed me for many years. I never said anything, but today I share my thoughts.
Things that disturb me about UBF: a tendency to rewrite history to be only positive; a tendency to focus on individual and communal praise of God while ignoring the reality of painful divisions and disunity.
