Still Born Free!

I am compelled to repost this, for all my friends who have been freed from the insane tyranny of UBF: The freedom issue was resolved in America 236 years ago. And there are still American soldiers dying for that freedom.

Fast, on a rough road riding
High, through the mountains climbing
twisting, turning further from my home.
Young, like a new moon rising
Fierce, through the rain and lightning
Wandering out into this great unknown.

And I don’t want no one to cry, but tell em’
If I don’t survive…

I was Born Free!
I was born free
I was born free, Born Free.

Free, like a river raging
Strong, if the wind I’m facing.
Chasing dreams and racing father time.
Deep like the grandest canyon,
Wild like an untamed stallion.
If you can’t see my heart you must be blind.

You can knock me down and watch me bleed
But you can’t keep no chains on me.

I was Born Free!
I was born free
I was born free, Born Free.

And I’m not good at long goodbyes but look down
Deep into my eyes.

I was born free!

Calm facing danger
Lost, like an unknown stranger
Grateful for my time with no regrets.

Close to my destination
Tired, frail and aching
Waiting patiently for the sun to set.

And when its done believe that I will yell it from that mountain highhh!

And I will vow to the shining seas and celebrate God’s Grace on me.

  1. I like that our new German president has freedom as his core political program: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom._A_Plea

But Western countries should be careful to not establish their own freedom at the expense of people in other countries or the poorer people in their own countries. Freedom must go hand in hand with other values such as peace and compassion.

    • Good points: “Western countries should be careful to not establish their own freedom at the expense of people in other countries or the poorer people in their own countries. Freedom must go hand in hand with other values such as peace and compassion.”

With freedom comes responsibility. I for one say it’s time for UBF people in America to enact such responsibility.

  2. And it’s a bit ironic that this song about freedom is blocked for people from Germany.

    • Chris, I wonder if Kidd Rock is banned or just this song? I think I’ve listened to this song the most over the past year and a half. I know I’m getting on my proud American soapbox, but the freedom issue was settled 236 years ago in America. I’ll do my part to prevent anyone from taking away that freedom.
