The Gospel of…

The word “gospel” is used a lot by Christians. After understanding what the gospel is, we ought to understand what makes up the nature of the gospel. What is the gospel of Jesus all about?

Here is what Scripture says the gospel is about…

It’s about Jesus

“The beginning of the gospel about Jesus Christ, the Son of God.” Mark 1:1

It’s about the kingdom

“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:14

It’s about God’s grace

“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me–the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.” Acts 20:24

It’s about the glory of Christ

“The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” 2 Corinthians 4:4

It’s about salvation

“And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,…” Ephesians 1:13

It’s about peace

“…and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.” Ephesians 6:15
